On top of the small matter of a down payment, one logistic that keeps me from constantly emailing every listing agent about every beautiful home I see is: moving furniture. It’s an undeniable hassle, which is why this sweet stucco abode outside Joshua Tree — which comes fully furnished, down to the art and decor — is starting to look pretty tempting.
Situated on five sandy acres in Southern California, this home stands out from its earth-toned surroundings thanks to the bright orange-and-blue mural that covers the facade, painted by artist Bunnie Reiss.
Inside, polished concrete floors keep things cool, and warm mahogany doors soak up the natural sunlight that fills the home. A complete renovation brought new appliances to the kitchen, and the open concept means you can mix up a meal at the island while looking through the living room window at the pergola-covered patio outside.
Both bedrooms are lovely (as is the bathroom, with a shower bedecked in Spanish tiles), but I’m calling dibs on the primary bedroom, which has direct access to the second covered patio — perfect for sipping a sunrise coffee or sunset aperitif.
