Visit to Clerkenwell – a tour of three manufacturer showrooms

As we edge our way back to normality, it’s understandable not everyone is ready to hop on the train to London or brave the underground. With this in mind we decided to visit the manufacturer showrooms, so you don’t have to!

Join us as we tour three of our top showrooms; The Senator Group, Davison Highley and Orangebox.

The Senator Group

The Senator Group was founded in 1976 when its Chairman Colin Mustoe began designing and manufacturing office furniture. An independent, family owned business based in Lancashire, Senator now has showrooms across the globe.

The Senator group is composed of three distinct brands. Torasen offers simple and cost effective furniture solutions from task seating through to soft furnishings. The Senator brand creates office furniture underpinned by innovation and understanding of ever-evolving workplace dynamics. Allermuir creates beautiful, contemporary furniture for the leisure and corporate sector.

The icing on the cake is the recycling division Sustain, which takes materials, packaging and redundant furniture from customers and competitors to recycle them and ensure nothing goes to landfill.

Davison Highley

Davison Highley design and manufacture high quality and original upholstered furniture. With an extensive standard collection featuring everything from soft seating to work booths, they also offer bespoke options tailored specifically to your workspace.

British owned and manufactured for over 40 years, 90% of the materials used in their furniture come from within 60 miles of the High Wycombe workshop. Sustainability is also an integral part of the business – we recently wrote about Davison Highley’s sustainability vision and how impressed we were at their commitment to be a carbon net zero business by 2030.

Orangebox 

Formed in the summer of 2002, Orangebox has been at the forefront of innovation ever since. Calling themselves The Smartworking Company, Orangebox pride themselves on their research and development, exploring the ways people work and using this to inform their designs.

As enthusiastic advocates of collaborative working, we thought it only right to focus our tour on one of our favourite new products – Campers & Dens. Modular elements allow for endless design possibilities as well as the ability to re-position to suit changing needs. A beautiful piece of interior architecture and one that compliments the hybrid working world nicely, Campers & Dens creates ‘workplaces you want to belong to…destinations you want to visit’.
