What once housed a mining prospector’s office, music school, American Legion dance hall, and Woolworth’s becomes the Object Hotel
In 1906, architect Henry Trost was selected to design the Hanniger Johnson Building, thanks to a style William describes as “taking what was happening in New York and mixing it up.” Though the impressive Italianate façade wouldn’t look out of place in cities east of the Mississippi, it was constructed with Bisbee’s full range of weather in mind: from extreme heat to monsoon season to winter snowfall.Elizabeth Yuko
