After more than two and a half years on the market Scarlett Johansson is finally rid of her contemporary Manhattan apartment, according to the New York Post. Though it must be a relief that it has officially sold, the $1.9 million deal does represent a big loss for the actor, who paid $2.1 million for the Sutton Place pad in 2008.
Beyond the obvious loss from the price tags, the Marriage Story star also extensively renovated the two bedroom, two bathroom space during her stay, adding to the expense. The 1,270 square foot penthouse has a totally up to date kitchen with white marble countertops and flooring, plus white windowed cupboard doors, and a luxe Wolf oven. Plenty of sunlight peaks into the apartment, thanks to large windows that look out onto the nearly 500 square foot terrace.The primary suite is particularly primed for the enjoyment of a sunny day from its tranquil private sunroom (a godsend for anyone with a green thumb). A massive walk-in closet, with custom wood shelves and drawers, is accessible from the primary bedroom, too. The unit’s most unique feature is the wall of glass bricks that separates the other bedroom and the living room, another element that certainly helps usher natural light through the apartment.
Johansson reportedly still owns a larger property in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, along with two homes in the Hamptons, and a home in the star-studded upstate enclave of Palisades, New York. Her husband, Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost, listed his West Village bachelor pad this past fall, not long after they welcomed their first child together, a boy named Cosmo.
