Old Is New: A Vintage Rug Collection from Passerine in Washington, DC

On our radar: a newish collection of vintage rugs from Passerine, founded by Georgia Hoyler, who was inspired to start her company when she outfitted her own row house in Washington, DC. “I intentionally avoided seasonal design trends and looks from big box stores,” she says. Hoyler discovered the allure of the vintage rug at an estate sale in New England, where she fell in love with a Persian Shiraz scatter rug. Over the last few years, Hoyler has developed relationships with a handful of overseas rug merchants who provide her with high-quality, authenticated floor coverings, most in the soft, faded palette she prefers.
