NBA Star Hassan Whiteside Lists Waterfront Miami Pad for $23 Million | Architectural Digest

He may be preparing to play in the playoffs with his Utah Jazz teammates, but NBA center Hassan Whiteside has chosen this opportunity to hoist his Miami Beach mansion onto the market. Whiteside purchased the modern property for $7.3 million in 2016, back when he was still playing for the Miami Heat.

Whiteside is asking $23 million for the 5,406 square foot home that’s located on Surprise Point, just off of Biscayne Bay, and near to all the action of Miami. As bold as you’d expect of a property of a baller in the Sunshine State city, the angular home flaunts a red spiral staircase connecting each level from the outside, all the way up to the rooftop deck which is fully outfitted for optimal outdoor lounging—it even has a grassy patch.

Beyond the rooftop space, the sun can be enjoyed from the backyard, which is outfitted with a sleek pool and barbecue pavilion, while shade can be found in the covered outdoor dining space and nearby fire pit area, or on the upstairs balconies. Ideal for those who enjoy boating, the home sits against 100+ feet of water and offers a private dock.

The back side of the house is almost entirely glass to enjoy as much of that waterfront view as possible, but windows are employed much more conservatively on the other sides to maximize privacy. The six bedroom, seven bathroom property is perfectly optimized for outdoor enjoyment and entertaining, but there are still plenty of comfortable indoor spaces and amenities to be found in the home. One bedroom has been converted into a movie theater, while the garage was converted into a fitness center fit for a star athlete.

Joe Azar of Compass holds the listing.
