Way back in 2019, IKEA announced its partnership with the World Surf League to bring KÅSEBERGA, a range of practical and beautifully designed homeware and lifestyle products. Finally, the wait is over, and the collection is set to launch globally in stores and online from May 1.

The collection has been developed sustainability in mind, including the use of more renewable materials like cork, recycled polyester, and bamboo. KÅSEBERGA is a specially curated collection of 25 home and lifestyle products, including glassware, a beach chair, a portable grill, wall art, a coffee table and a bag uniquely designed to function well for beach clean-ups. With a soft, natural color palette and many items having multiple uses, each product has been designed to allow customers to “embraces the surfer’s mindset, regardless of whether they ride waves or not.”

At the 2021 IKEA Festival, the brands unveiled three of the innovative new products that are set to hit shelves in May, including the KÅSEBERGA Balance Board, design by Michael Axelsson and Rob Machado, and the KÅSEBERGA Beach Bag and KÅSEBERGA Glassware, designed by Kassia Meador and Wiebke Braasch.

“It has been an honour and a pleasure to team up with Rob Machado, the WSL and IKEA to create KÅSEBERGA,” said Kassia Meador, surfer, designer and business owner, in a press release. “[It’s] a collection of ocean-inspired home goods and on-the-go surf essentials in the most functional high vibe low impact way, [designed for] the ever-growing global community of earth-conscious surfers and beach lovers.”

“Watching the IKEA KÅSEBERGA collaboration come to life and working with their designers on developing these sustainable products has been a truly rewarding experience for us at WSL [World Surf League],” added Cherie Cohen, WSL Chief Revenue Officer, in a press release. “IKEA’s sustainability initiatives align closely with those of the WSL and our fans. We are confident that these products made using recycled and renewable materials will be hugely popular with surfers, ocean lovers, and design enthusiasts.”

Shop the collection from May 1.
